The safety platform for competitive cycling

Race day shouldn't keep you up at night.

Rouback is the safety platform for cycling races. It screens each course before the first pedal stroke, supports your safety team during a race, and captures every incident from start to finish.

The problem

Complex coordination deserves real-time decision support.

Race safety involves complex coordination between multiple stakeholders, often under time pressure. There is an opportunity to better support decision-making with structured data and real-time insights.

  • No structured way to screen a course for risk
  • Communication breaks down when it matters most
  • Safety decisions happen in isolation, not distributed
  • No way of complete course information at a glance
  • Every race you start from zero again

The question isn't whether to modernise race safety. It's how fast you can.

The solution

One platform. Three phases. Complete coverage.

Every race follows the same arc: preparation, execution, review. Rouback covers every stage in one connected platform.

Pre-race

Screen the course

Map every metre of the route. Flag hazards, assign risk scores, and generate inspection reports before race day.

Automatic course screening

Geo-tagged hazard points and automated risk scoring through machine learning, based on road characteristics and aggregated historical data.

Compliance & audit

Audit-ready federation reports.

Team coordination
During race

Coordinate your team

Assign roles, share live positions, and communicate through a single dashboard while the race is running.

Live coordination

Real-time marshal and medic communication.

Incident reporting

Structured forms with GPS tagging.

Team management

Roles, credentials, volunteer coordination.

Smart alerts

Dangerous obstacles, weather, incidents, missed checkpoints.

Data analysis
Post-race

Learn from the data

Log every incident in real time, generate post-race reports, and feed insights back into the next edition.

Post-race insights

Benchmark and improve each edition.

Data privacy

Encrypted, role-based access controls.

Rouback gives race organisers a single platform that covers every phase of safety.

How it works

Closed-loop safety, from route to report.

The Rouback platform screens every course before the race, tracks every rider during it, and turns every incident into intelligence during and after the race.

Screen the route

After uploading your GPX and optionally your filmed route, our AI flags all hazards before anyone rides it. It uses the intelligence of the speed and behaviours of professional cyclists in a bunch.

Who it's for

The team

We've been inside professional cycling for five years.

Rouback originated from Ghent University, where the team is active as sports data researchers. Built the race screening tools, and spent five years researching race safety in collaboration with a range of stakeholders across the cycling ecosystem.

The evidence

Built on research, validated in real races.

Rouback was born from Ghent University, where the founding team has researched cycling road safety since 2020. The platform's core technology was peer-reviewed and field-tested before a single line of product code was written.

  • Associated course screening for a wide range of cycling events

Frequently asked questions

Rouback is a digital platform that helps race organisers screen courses for risk, coordinate safety teams during the race, and capture every incident from start to finish — replacing spreadsheets, walkie-talkies, and gut feel with structured data.

You upload or draw the race route on a map. Rouback analyses every metre using GPS data, historical incident records, and road characteristics to flag hazards and assign risk scores — before anyone sets foot on the course.

Rouback generates structured reports that can be directly used by race safety coordinators and integrated into existing workflows.

GPS tracking is increasingly common at WorldTour level but not yet mandatory across all race categories. Rouback works with or without live rider tracking — it focuses on course and crew safety, not athlete performance and fan engagement.

Race organisers, safety coordinators, national and international federations, and professional cycling teams. Anyone responsible for making race day safer.
